While Troy and the big kids are finishing up things in New Mexico, I've been hustling in Utah with the younguns. I've had two interviews thus far, with more to come. And I spend a few hours each day filling out applications, and hunting down job opportunities. It's exhausting, and time consuming, and I feel like the whole application process needs to be streamlined... especially for smaller jobs. I mean, how much information do you actually need from a person anyways? It's just dumb.
In other news, we close on our house next week! Yesterday, Daniel, Taylor, and I schlepped ourselves all over the place, pricing out furniture, and tile, and appliances. For SURE we need a washer and a dryer, and possibly a fridge. (I can't remember if the fridge stays or goes.) I ALSO was pricing out a mini fridge and microwave for the basement snack bar... and countertops, and cabinets, and, And, AND! My to-do list is a mile long.
Thankfully, we have a home base to work out of. The kids and I have been living with Elisa and her brood for almost a month now. And I guess I never really made the situation clear, because people seem to think I'm still in New Mexico. WELL I'M NOT.
Originally, I was going to come to Utah, buy a house, then head back to NM. Instead, I didn't. So Thaddeus and Blayne have been home with Troy, packing up the house, while Daniel, Taylor, and I hang out in Utah, and daydream about the fun things we COULD be doing... you know, if our accounts weren't essentially frozen because of the house thing. Escrow is a jerk. Beyond that, it's life as usual.
