We've been busy lately. Like, really busy.
We had the cub scout blue and gold banquet last week. We did an Olympic Minute to Win it theme, and everyone had a really good time.
I also drove up to the old neighborhood to teach a class about sharing the gospel via blogs and social media. It went really well, and I've been asked to come back and teach again. It was a lot of fun, and reminded me how much I like speaking in front of an audience.
I've been having major issues with sleeping lately. I'm either awake for days on end, or sleeping like the dead. It's no good, and I need to call my neurologist, except that when I'm awake and thinking it about it, the office is closed. You know, because normal business hours and all that. I'm going to set my alarm tomorrow so I can actually get a phone call to the doctor in.
Meanwhile, I need to get back on track with my eating/exercising. I've been major slacking, because of the whole sleeping thing, but also because it's been crazy weather, which makes my whole body ache. Basically, I'm just full of excuses. I know I just need to make it a priority, but it's so hard! (whine, whine, complain, complain)
Tonight was also Blayne's third grade performance. She did great! I like that the schools out here do more music and drama, but I wish it the music class was more about the music. The performance tonight was called "Famous Americans" and the songs were written to help kids pass the SOL's. Not kidding. So all the songs were just facts smooshed together to a tune. I wish they would sing SONGS and learn PARTS and learn about MUSICALITY and all that. I just feel like they're taking the fun out of music. I guess I'll just be happy that they even have a weekly music class.
